Lisa's sculpture evolves from everyday discarded objects thrown out by the public. Lisa finds these objects in the community, strips them down, reworks them and transforms them into a new form of identity. The end result is always humerous, mocking our highly materialistic disposable culture. To reinvent something is to bring a new appreciation to the object and celebrate its former life. By incorporating flashing lights, motors and moving parts we can see a direct link to the funfair's and circus acts we visited as a child. The end sculpture is one of bizarre abstraction, yet with a new function - to entertain the viewer.
